"MICROSOFT LAUNCHES GOOGLE'S WORST NIGHTMARE"
as reported in the AdBumb 03.17.05
Guess what the boys in Redmond are set to unveil at their 6th annual Strategic Account Summit? The new MSN adCenter—a platform that will eventually support ads over the entire Microsoft network. Via adCenter, advertisers will be able to monitor a broad range of functions including, "in-depth analytics and audience intelligence…geographic location, gender, age group, lifestyle segment and time of day." And all of this will be available to advertisers before they place their ad—so they'll know what they're getting into before they sign on the dotted line. The first piece of the platform released will be a paid search element, which will debut overseas before being launched in the US about six months from now. If the future of advertising is about putting control in the clients' hands, then Microsoft looks to be the leader of this parade. We can't wait to see what Google and Yahoo! come up with to counter. Bring it!
